Budget Information Posted Here Daily

As we enter into one of the most challenging budget seasons we have ever faced, I want to make sure you are fully informed and have every opportunity to participate. That’s why I am posting the background information for all budget discussions to the right under “FY10 Budget Packets.” This way you’ll have the same information we do. Check back often as I will be updating this page daily. Also, visit the Council’s website for committee schedules if you want to hear the discussions. Most importantly, tell me what you would do.

Nancy,
PLEASE do something about the Water Quality Assessment Fee. It is killing us in the homeowner associations. It takes a 2/3 vote of our membership to raise assessments, so you can imagine how often THAT happens. To tax our roads in Montgomery Village while NOT applying the fee to commercial properties is an outrage. So, malls, car dealers, etc. get off completely, while the little guy suffers. There is NOTHING in the statute that says the fee applies to our roads. NOTHING. So, the interpretation is that it is ok, versus assuming silence on the matter means "no." Please do something to remedy the unfairness of this fee, and remove MV roads from the equation. thank you!

I just heard a rumor that the council is considering a soccer stadium for Shady Grove. I hope I am wrong and that no one is so dense as to waste our precious dollars on a sports team.
