The TTR Report Public Hearing was a demonstration of the power of the CE's office. If the CE wants to suppress conversation, call a hasty hearing in the middle of July, limit the publicity and hold it in a room that screams for renovation. (Some peaked into the room and decided to leave.) The takeaway was that the CE pledged to decide for the best approach, while noting that our tax base is eroding. He mentioned that he will not "bankrupt the county," and does have some questions as to who will use this system--but that answer is probably not attainable. After making his comments, he quickly left. That's it for public engagement. Sorry that 99.9999% of the county missed it. It will be up to Council--and PHED--to more realistically vet this proposal.
